Brandon Pottebaum arrived at Georgia Tech in June 2013 as an academic coordinator working with football student-athletes. In July 2015, he was promoted to senior academic coordinator, and in July 2016 was elevated to his current position of assistant director of student-athlete services for football.
Prior to Tech, he served as an intern working with the University of Iowa student-athlete academic services and compliance departments. At Iowa, Pottebaum primarily worked with football, golf, track and cross country student-athletes from 2011-13.
Pottebaum holds a bachelor's degree in business management with a minor in exercise science and coaching from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was a football student-athlete at Buena Vista, where he played linebacker for the Beavers. While at the University of Iowa, he earned his master's degree in sports management and he is currently seeking a PhD program in higher educational leadership.
He and his wife, Katharina, live in Atlanta with their three dogs: Frank, Chewy, and Ralph. His hobbies include international travel, playing recreational sports, and strength and conditioning.
