Justin Liberta joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association in June 2017 as an athletic trainer intern in the sports medicine department. At Tech, he will be working with the track & field programs and assisting with football.
He came to The Flats after serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer the last two years at Mercyhurst University where he worked with the women's softball and football teams. He also assisted with the daily rehabilitation with all MU sports and assisted with the coverage of the men's basketball team.
Liberta also worked as an undergraduate at Alfred University where he assisted in the daily duties of prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for 21 sports. He also assisted the athletic training staffs at SUNY Geneseo and Hamburg High School, and volunteered with the medical staff at the 2014 Wineglass Marathon event.
A team captain of the 2014 Alfred football team, he earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training in 2015 and then picked up his master's degree in organizational leadership with a concentration in sports leadership from Mercyhurst in 2017.
Liberta is NATABOC certified and has his American Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification. He is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers' Society.
