Sunsea Williams joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association student services team as an academic coordinator in September 2015. She was promoted to her current position of assistant director of academic programs in August 2017.
Prior to coming to The Flats, Williams was an athletic academic advisor at Jacksonville State University and an academic assistant and tutor coordinator at her alma mater Northern Illinois University.
She also held a number of roles at NIU from 2011-13, including an administrative graduate assistant in athletics, an intern in both community standards and student conduct and compliance and student service, a graduate assistant for off campus and non-traditional student services, a student-athlete academic support services assistant and case manager and a football operations intern.
Williams, who was a member of the NIU track & field and cross country teams from 2007-11, graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology in 2011. She also earned her master's degree in adult and higher education from NIU.
A native of South Bend, Indiana, Williams is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A) and is a 2016 graduate of N4A's Professional Development Institute. She is also a member of Women Leaders in College Sports and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
She and her husband, Martell Williams, have a dog named Serenity.
