A Q&A with head coach Courtney Shealy Hart to preview the 2012-13 season
High School: Swam four years for head coach Virginia Richards at Etowah High... Was a part of four-straight county championships... Graduated as the school record holder in the 100 free, 100 breast, 200 free relay, 400 free relay and 200 medley relay... Named the 2012 Cherokee County Swimmer of the Year... Won the Cherokee County titles in the 100 breast, 200 IM, 200 medley relay and 200 free relay (set county records in all four events)... Two-time US Swimming Scholastic All-America... Was the 2010 USA Swimming state champion in the 200 back and 200 IM.
Personal: Born November 20, 1993... Son of Jerry and Susan Blanton... Has a sister, Kylie... His father ran track and played basketball at the University of Dubuque... Plans to major in computational media or business, and minor in music technology.
