Two school records fall as men finish third, women finish fourth
2016-17 (Freshman): Had a strong freshman season in which he competed in six different events for the Jackets on the year, including the 500, 1000 and 1650 free, as well as the 200 and 400 IM … Registered six top-10 times for the Jackets on the year … Turned in the second-fastest time on the season for the Jackets in the 1650 free (15:32.22) and the third-fastest mark in both the 500 free (4:29.64) and the 1000 free (9:20.47) … Also had the fourth-fastest time in the 400 IM (3:52.16) … Posted the eighth-fastest time on the team in the 200 fly (1:56.02) and the ninth-fastest in the 200 IM (1:52.17) … Totaled 16 top-10 finishes on the year … Earned a win with a first-place finish in the 400 IM (4:03.55) at the tri-meet with Cincinnati and FAU … Recorded a runner-up finish in the 400 IM (4:00.20) versus Notre Dame and in the 1000 free (9:41.23) in the double-dual meet against BC and Pitt … Also placed third overall in the 500 free (4:43.92) in the season-opening ACC meet versus Boston College and Pitt … Turned in a fourth-place finish in the 1000 free (9:33.49) in Florida versus Cincy and FAU … Finished fifth in the 1000 free (9:33.19) in the dual versus Notre Dame and in the 500 free (4:40.90) against Georgia … Also posted a fifth-place showing in the 1650 free (16:06.00) versus Alabama and in the 1000 free (9:37.89) against both Florida State and SCAD … Recorded a 21st-place finish in the 1650 free (15:32.22) at the ACC Championships.
