Former Georgia Tech men's swimmer Jorge Oliver enters his second season at Tech. Oliver was a student assistant last season and will be a volunteer assistant this year.
Oliver qualified for his first Summer Olympic games in 2004 in Athens, Greece. The former men's swimming standout finished 45th in the men's 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:08.84 in the preliminaries.
As an athlete at Tech, Oliver finished his career ranked No. 3 in the 100 butterfly (49.55), fourth in the 100 backstroke (50.51) and 100 freestyle (45.75), sixth in the 200 backstroke (1:50.42) and seventh in the 200 IM (1:53.38).
Oliver graduated from Georgia Tech in December 2003, with a degree in chemical engineering.
