Andrew Kosic Breaks Tech 100 Free Record At Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Attempting to post an NCAA Championship qualifying time this past weekend at the Ohio State Last Chance Meet, freshman Andrew Kosic broke a school record in the 100 free. It marks the first men's swimming record to fall in two years.
Kosic was clocked in a time of 43.23 in the 100 free at OSU's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. The previous 100 free mark was 43.33 held by Noah Copeland, set in 2009.
"Andrew has had a very impressive freshman season, and this record is tribute to him and how hard he's worked," said head coach Courtney Shealy Hart. "Now it's a waiting game to see if it will be fast enough to earn a spot in the NCAA Championship."
For Georgia Tech, it is the first men's swimming record to fall since the 2010 season when Gal Nevo set the program record in the 200 fly.
Qualification for the NCAA Championship will be announced later this week.
