Kosic, van Duijn Wrap Up NCAA Championship

AUSTIN, Texas – Georgia Tech juniors Andrew Kosic and Nico van Duijn wrapped up their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Men’s Swimming Championship Saturday night at the University of Texas in Austin.

van Duijn finished 20th overall in the 200 fly, putting down a time of 1:43.69 in the prelims on Saturday afternoon.

Kosic, meanwhile, touched the wall in the 43.20 in the 100 free, which was good for 27th overall in the event. Earlier in the championship, Kosic became the school’s first point-scorer in the NCAA Championship since 2010 by finishing 15th overall in the 50 free.

Both Kosic and van Duijn teamed with four other Yellow Jackets making their NCAA debuts this weekend. They swam the 200 medley relay with Taylor Wilson and Ricky Lehner, and teamed with Mats Westergren and Declan Poorman in the 800 free relay.
