FORT MYERS, Fla - The Georgia Tech women's swimming and diving team swept a quad meet at Florida Gulf Coast University on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets defeated Florida Atlantic, 182-118, Florida Gulf Coast University, 183-117, and the University of Tampa 233-54. Tech won 12 of the day's 16 events led by sophomore Agatha Kwasnik and freshman Christine Chuang who had two individual wins apiece and were part of two more winning relay teams.

"This was a very good day for us," said head coach Stu Wilson. "Despite being tired heading into the meet, they really got it and were able to swim much faster than the last quad meet two weeks ago. Today was a good test of the mental toughness needed for the ACC Championship and we are very pleased with the results."

The Tech relay team of Kwasnik, Chuang as well as sophomores Ryann Kopacka and Lisa Pucci began the meet by winning the 200 yard medley in a time of 1:48.92. Senior Elizabeth Stowe followed that by winning the 1,000 yard freestyle in a time of 10:06.68. She also captured the 500 yard freestyle with a mark of 4:58.88.

Kwasnik won the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:52.20 as well as the 100 yard freestyle (51.80). Chuang registered a NCAA "B" Cut qualifying time 2:02.46 in the 200 yard butterfly and also posted a time of 55.84 to win the 100 yard butterfly.

The Jackets swept the two diving events as well with sophomore Hannah Krimm winning the 1-meter dive (254.10 points) and senior Stephanie England scored 263.30 points to win the 3-meter dive.

Pucci gave Tech a win in the 200 yard breaststroke as she turned in a time of 2:26.83 while sophomore Jing Li won the 200 yard IM in 2:08.93.

The Jackets wrapped up the meet by winning the 200 yard free relay led by the team of Kwasnik, Pucci, Chuang and sophomore Taylor Flynn.

Both the men's and women's teams will host Western Kentucky on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center for Parent's Weekend.
