Gal Nevo Named ACC Performer of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech men’s swimmer Gal Nevo has been named the ACC”s men’s swimming performer of the week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

In Saturday’s dual-meet with ACC-rival NC State, Nevo captured three events on the day to lead the Yellow Jackets to a commanding 167-131 win over the Wolfpack.

Nevo won the 200-fly, the 200-breast and the 400-IM on the afternoon and set a personal best time in the 200-fly at 1:48.90. Nevo’s time in the 200 breast was also the team-best for the season. Also, the Kibbutz Hamadia, Israel native holds the eighth, seventh, and third-best times, respectively, in each event in the conference on the year.

Nevo and the rest of the Yellow Jackets return to the pool on Saturday when they host ACC-foes Florida State and Virginia Tech at the Aquatic Center. Action gets underway at 11 a.m.
