Swimming & Diving Awarded For Academic Achievement By CSCAA

July 10, 2012

THE FLATS - Both Georgia Tech men's and women's swimming and diving teams, along with 12 student-athletes, have been honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America for academic achievement in the Spring 2012 semester.

The individuals receiving recognition are: Heidi Hatteberg, Keren Siebner, Jessie Mason, Kate Riley, Jordan Evans, Ariana Berg, Helen Alvey, Eric Chiu, Andrew Kosic, Max Randolph, Zach Tillman and Nico van Duijn

The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher for that semester.

Individual honors are presented to those that achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, for the semester or cumulative average, and have qualified for their respective national championship.

"I am very proud that our team continues to excel in the pool and in the classroom," said head coach Courtney Shealy Hart. "We place a great deal of importance on academics and it continues to pay off. Georgia Tech is a demanding academic institution, so honors like this mean a great deal."

The College Swimming Coaches Association is the oldest coaches organization in America. In addition to Scholar All American Awards, the CSCAA recognizes All American Swimmers and Divers at the national championships every year.
