Pumputis Races in the 400 Medley on Sunday

Men’s 400m Medley Relay Results

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Georgia Tech freshman Caio Pumputis continued his week at the 6th FINA World Junior Championships on Sunday, as the Jacket newcomer competed in the men’s 400 meter medley preliminaries in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pumputis, who was racing in his fifth event on the week, recorded a time of 4:39.13 to place 29th overall in the 400 meter medley prelims in the morning session.

The São Paulo, Brazil native finished 18th overall in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.64) on Wednesday and fifth in the 200 medley (2:00.97) on Thursday. On Saturday, Pumputis finished 13th in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.44) and swam the anchor leg of Brazil’s 4×200 meter free relay team (7:34.79) that touched the wall in eighth-place overall in the finals.

Pumputis will wrap up the week at the FINA World Junior Championships as part Brazil’s 400 medley relay team on Monday, Aug. 28.

400 medley relay – Prelims: 9:30 a.m. / Semifinals and Finals: 6:00 p.m.
