Pumputis Concludes Competition at the World Junior Championships

Men's 4x100m Medley Relay Results

Georgia Tech freshman Caio Pumputis wrapped up his busy week at the 6th FINA World Junior Championships on the final day of competition on Monday, as the Yellow Jacket swimmer helped guide the Brazil 4x100 meter medley relay team to a seventh-place finish in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pumputis, who swam as the second leg of the 4x100 medley relay team, helped his team post an eighth-place finish in the prelims and qualify for the finals with a time of 3:43.54.

In the finals, Pumputis would lead his team to a seventh-place finish with a time of 3:42.35, over a full second better than their prelims time.

The São Paulo, Brazil native finished 18th overall in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.64) on Wednesday and fifth in the 200 medley (2:00.97) on Thursday.

On Saturday, Pumputis finished 13th in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.44) and swam the anchor leg of Brazil's 4x200 meter free relay team (7:34.79) that touched the wall in eighth-place overall in the finals.

He also placed 29th overall in the 400 meter medley (4:39.13) on Sunday.
