Named to College Baseball Insider Honorable Mention All-America Team... Led the team and was ninth in the ACC with 30 appearances on the mound... Made one start... Finished with an 8-3 record and two saves... Pitched to a 1.83 ERA, which ranked as the second-lowest ERA in the ACC and 10th in the NCAA... Opponents hit just .179 off him, which was also ranked second in the ACC... Allowed just 5.62 hits per nine innings (ranked fifth in the NCAA)... His WHIP of 0.94 ranked 12th in the nation... His eight wins were tied for third-most in the conference... Made his collegiate pitching debut with one scoreless inning vs. Kent State (2/17)... Struck out a career-high four batters in two innings of work in a win over Rutgers (3/2)... Went 2.0 hitless shutout innings to close out a win at NC State (3/9) with one walk and two strikeouts... Recorded his sixth win vs. Charlotte (5/6), tossing 4.1 relief innings with two hits, two runs, no walks and two strikeouts... Fired 5.2 innings of three-hit, one-run relief at No. 22 Virginia (5/13) to earn the win... Recorded a pair of three-inning saves at the ACC Championship -- the first two saves of his career -- closing out the 5-4 win over No. 1 Florida State, and going three scoreless frames with two strikeouts to seal the 5-1 win over Clemson... His first career start was a pressure-packed elimination game in the NCAA Gainesville Regional versus College of Charleston, and he delivered with a dominating six-inning shutout in Tech's 3-0 win... It was a career-long outing for Cruz who allowed just two hits with three strikeouts as the Jackets advanced to the Regional title game versus Florida... Played error-free defensively on the season (28 chances) and was 1-for-11 at the plate with an RBI.
