THE BASICS:
· No. 7 Louisville completed the three-game sweep of Georgia Tech with a 4-1 win on Sunday at Jim Patterson Stadium in Louisville.
· Ryan Peurifoy had three hits for the Yellow Jackets, who were without freshman second baseman Wade Bailey and continue to play without freshman Kel Johnson, who are each rehabbing ankle injuries.
· Tech slipped to 17-10 overall and 5-7 in the ACC, while the Cardinals improved to 21-7, 11-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Peurifoy’s single kick-started the Jackets in the third inning and he eventually scored on Daniel Spingola’s RBI single to make it 3-1.
· But Tech left runners at second and third in the third, left two stranded in the fourth and two more stranded in the seventh after back-to-back lead-off singles from Peurifoy and Arden Pabst.
· Louisville made a three-run second inning stand in earning the series sweep.
· Nick Solak had an RBI single for the Cardinals during their three-run, three-hit second inning.
· Brendan McKay’s sacrifice fly allowed Louisville to extend its lead to 4-1 in the fifth.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· The Yellow Jackets out-hit the Cardinals 8-5, but left nine runners on base.
· Josh Rogers earned the win (4-1) by allowing just one run on six hits with six strikeouts over six innings.
· Zack Burdi closed out the Jackets with a scoreless ninth to pick up his third save.
· Sophomore Brandon Gold yielded five hits and four runs (three earned) over his six innings and absorbed the loss (3-1).
· Peurifoy had a season-high three hits for the Jackets with his 3-for-4 effort.
· Pabst finished a strong week at the plate by going 2-for-4 Sunday and was 5-for-9 in his three starts this week.
· Sophomore RHP Zac Ryan retired all five batters he faced in relief Sunday with a pair of strikeouts. Five of his last six relief stints have been scoreless.

QUOTEABLE:
“We spotted them three again early. You can’t spot a good team runs and expected to come back, especially a team like they have with good pitching. Felt like we had some chances to get back in it, but we couldn’t get that hit to score guys. Definitely a disappointing weekend, but a long way to go. We’ve got to regroup and bounce back because this will be a tough week with Georgia and Georgia State back-to-back.”
— Head Coach Danny Hall

UP NEXT: The Yellow Jackets continue on the road this week with a pair of games at Georgia (Tuesday at 7 p.m. on SEC Network) and Wednesday at Georgia State (6 p.m.).
