Russ Chandler Among Best Stadium Experiences
The home of the Yellow Jackets was ranked fifth-best in college baseball and 53rd overall
THE FLATS - Georgia Tech's Russ Chandler Stadium continues to garner national praise. Last month, it was named the top playing surface in college baseball, and now StadiumJourney.com has rated the ballpark experience one of the best in sports.
Stadium Journey reviewed more than 2,000 venues nationwide, and ranked the home of the 2014 ACC Champions fifth-best in college baseball and No. 53 overall. The ratings took into account factors such as the stadium's food & beverage offerings, atmosphere, neighborhood, fans, access, and overall return on investment.
This marks the fourth year of Stadium Journey's Top 100 rankings, and the second straight year Russ Chandler Stadium has been highly ranked. The No. 1 overall stadium in 2014 was Oriole Park at Camden Yards, while the top collegiate baseball experience was Carolina Stadium at the University of South Carolina.
Russ Chandler Stadium received five-star ratings in a number of categories including return on investment, noting that the combination of reasonable ticket prices, championship-level baseball and the stadium's unique location in heart of midtown Atlanta make it an excellent value.
