    >> Fresh off a series sweep of Indiana State on its final non-conference weekend before ACC play begins, Georgia Tech welcomes Ohio University on Tuesday afternoon at Russ Chandler Stadium. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.

    >> The Yellow Jackets and the Bobcats have not met since 1994 and Tech is 2-1 all-time versus OU. Tech is 35-13 all-time versus teams from the Mid-American Conference, last playing a MAC team in 2014 (three-game sweep of Bowling Green). Tech head coach Danny Hall, an Ohio native, played in the MAC for Miami-Ohio and was the head coach at Kent State from 1988-93.

    >> Following Tuesday’s game, Tech begins defense of its ACC Championship by hosting Notre Dame this weekend to open conference play. The Yellow Jackets and Fighting Irish have never met as ACC foes and have not played since 1996. Tech leads the series 6-4.

    >> After coming from behind in each of their first five wins and trailing at some point in each of the first nine games, the Yellow Jackets were front-runners in sweeping Indiana State and never trailed in the series. Tech out-scored the Sycamores 23-3 and out-hit them 26-11. All 11 hits by ISU were singles.

    >> Tech is out-scoring opponents 15-4 in the first inning and 23-3 over the final two innings (11-0 in the ninth).

    >> Senior A.J. Murray brings a five-game hitting streak into Tuesday’s game and has reached base safely in all 11 games this season and in 23 of 24 games dating back to last year. Murray hit .471 (8-for-17) last week with three doubles, two homers, six RBI and four runs. Five of his eight hits last week went for extra bases. He leads the team in hits (15), runs (13), RBI (17 — tied for ACC lead), doubles (5) and slugging (.707).

    >> Sophomore C Arden Pabst has thrown out 80 percent of stolen-base attempts (eight of 10) against him this season, which is the nation’s third-best percentage.  He was second in the ACC last season in runners caught stealing (16) and caught-stealing percentage (.410). On Feb. 22, Pabst clubbed a walk-off, three-run home run as Tech rallied to beat Albany.

    >>     Danny Hall is in his 22nd season as Tech’s head coach (28th overall), and his last four seasons on the Flats have resulted in two ACC tournament titles (2012, 2014) and an ACC regular-season crown (2011). Hall is a two-time ACC Coach of the Year and is among the 15 winningest active coaches in college baseball with 1,107 wins. He is one win shy of his 900th as Tech’s head coach.

    >> Freshman 2B Wade Bailey has hit safely in four of Tech’s last six games, including a 6-for-9 effort in the final two games of the Indiana State series. Five of his nine runs have come in the last two games.

    >>     The Yellow Jackets were one of the nation’s best defensive teams last season, leading the NCAA in outfield assists (23) and double plays (77, school record), while also setting a school record for best fielding percentage (.974).
