THE FLATS – The Yellow Jackets (12-6, 2-4 ACC) will conclude its five-game homestand on Tuesday night versus the No. 16 Auburn Tigers (17-5, 3-0 SEC) in an ACC-SEC midweek showdown at Russ Chandler Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. ET.

THINGS FANS NEED TO KNOW

• It is Pack the Park night at Russ Chandler Stadium! All tickets will just be $3!

• Outside food and beverages are not permitted inside Russ Chandler Stadium. Also the season ticketholder clear bags are not permitted during baseball season at Russ Chandler Stadium. All bags will be searched upon entry into the stadium. NO bags larger than 14 by 10 by 5 inches will be permitted.

LEADING OFF

• Georgia Tech’s Joey Bart is tied for the nation’s lead with nine home runs on the season. He is tied with Sam Fragale of Virginia Tech, Kevin Woodall, Jr. of Coastal Carolina and Jake Burger of Missouri State. He is also tied for first nationally in home runs per game with an average of 0.50 on the season.

• Georgia Tech hosts the Auburn Tigers on Tuesday night for the first of two meetings this season between the two teams in midweek non-conference action. The Jackets will travel to Auburn for game number two of the home and home series on April 4.

• The Yellow Jackets are a perfect 3-0 in games played on Tuesday this season. Tech defeated Georgia Southern 10-3 (Feb. 21), Georgia State 12-5 (Feb. 28) and No. 12 Oklahoma 2-0 (Mar. 14) all in midweek action on Tuesday.

• This season, the Jackets are 4-1 overall in games after a loss. Tech is coming off a 7-4 loss to No. 9 North Carolina on Sunday afternoon at Russ Chandler Stadium.

• Junior Wade Bailey ranks fifth nationally in runs scored with 29 on the season, while sophomore Joey Bart is fifth nationally in total bases with 63 on the year.

• As a team, the Yellow Jackets rank sixth among all NCAA Division I schools with a total of 31 home runs. Tech is third in the ACC behind Wake Forest and Virginia Tech who both have 37 on the season.

• Georgia Tech’s offense is ranked in the top 45 nationally in seven different offensive categories – fourth in slugging percentage (.523), sixth in home runs (31), 18th in doubles (46), 27th in scoring (7.9 runs per game), 39th in runs scored (142), 43rd in batting average (.304) and 44th in hits (201).

• Both the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Auburn Tiger pitching staffs are averaging 8.2 strikeouts per nine innings entering Tuesday evening’s midweek tilt.

• The Jackets have been solid this season at the plate with two outs, as Tech is hitting .311 (71-of-228) with two outs and has also driven in a total of 55 RBIs on the season with two outs in the inning.

• On the season, the Yellow Jackets are a perfect 10-0 overall when holding its opponents to five runs or less for the contest. In their other two wins, both coming over Youngstown State, the Jackets allowed just six runs overall in those contests.

NO STRANGERS IN AUBURN

• The Yellow Jackets and Auburn Tigers are no strangers, as the two teams have met a total of 232 times on the baseball diamond in Tech’s history. Auburn is the second most-played opponent for the Jackets behind only Georgia (367).

• Georgia Tech holds a 120-107-5 series record versus the Auburn Tigers, as the two non-conference foes have played each other in each of the last two seasons, 2015 and 2016, after a 10-year hiatus.

TIGERS RIDING HIGH

• The Auburn Tigers enter Tuesday’s non-conference midweek contest riding a seven-game winning streak.

• Auburn, who last lost on Mar. 10, 2017 at home to Presbyterian 11-8, is coming off a three-game sweep of No. 5 Florida this past weekend in SEC play.

WELCOME TO ATLANTA

• The Auburn Tigers will be playing on the road and away from home for the very first time this season on Tuesday night, Mar. 21, at Russ Chandler Stadium.

• The Tigers, who are 17-5 at home this season, finished last year with a record of just 3-14 in true road contests away from Auburn, Ala.

SOMETHING HAS GOT TO GIVE

• Something has got to give on Tuesday night, as Tech’s offense is one of the best in the country this season, while Auburn’s pitching is also among the nationally leaders this year.

• The Jackets rank fourth nationally in slugging percentage (.523), sixth in home runs (31), 18th in doubles (46), 27th in scoring (7.9 runs per game), 39th in runs (142), 43rd in average (.304) and 44th in hits (201).

• The Tigers lead the nation in shutouts with seven. Auburn also ranks 43rd nationally in ERA (3.34) and 13th in double plays (22).

JACKETS VERSUS THE SEC IN 2017

• The Yellow Jackets will play two SEC teams this season in Auburn and Georgia. Tech hosts Auburn on March 21 at Russ Chandler Stadium and then is scheduled to play the return game at Auburn on April 4.

• Georgia Tech will again play a three-game series with the Georgia Bulldogs with the first game set for April 11 in Athens. The Bulldogs will then visit Russ Chandler Stadium on April 25, before the two teams wrap up the series with game three at SunTrust Park on May 9.

A THIRD STRAIGHT NATIONALLY RANKED FOE

• Auburn is the third nationally ranked opponent for the Jackets over its current five-game home stand, as Tech hosted No. 12 Oklahoma on Tuesday, Mar. 14, and faced off with No. 9 North Carolina last weekend in conference play.

• The Tigers are ranked No. 16 by Collegiate Baseball, No. 20 overall in the D1Baseball.com Top 25 and No. 24 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

ON DECK

• The Jackets will hit the road to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 24-26, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
