TEAM NOTES

• Georgia Tech lost for the fourth time this season to an ACC team by one point. Thirteen of Georgia Tech’s conference defeats (including the ACC Tournament) were decided by a total of 47 points (3.6 points per game), three of those in overtime. Tech lost four times by one point, twice by two points, once by three, once by four, once by five, once by six and three times by seven. The seven-point loss at Notre Dame was a double-overtime defeat, and the seven-point loss at Clemson went one overtime. Eleven of those defeats have been one- or two-possession games at the 1-minute mark.

• Tech and Boston College have faced each other in the opening round of the ACC Tournament three years running. The Eagles have won two of those games.

• Tech out-rebounded Boston College 43-26, its greatest margin on the board against any ACC team in 2014-15. The Yellow Jackets finished the season with a school-record rebound margin of +7.3 (+4.4 in ACC games). The previous high was +5.8 in 2006-07. Tech out-rebounded 24 of 31 opponents (six ACC opponents out-rebounded Tech and Northwestern tied). Tech entered the game ranked 15th nationally in rebound margin.

• Tech took 19 offensive rebounds and converted them into a season-high 28 points. Tech had 21 offensive boards at Clemson but converted them into only 15 points. Tech entered the game ranked 11th in the nation in offensive rebounds per game.

• Tech turned the ball over nine times, only the third time this season the Jackets had recorded less than 10 turnovers in a game.

• Tech went 10-for-15 from the free throw line, and is 93-for-164 (56.7 pct.) in the last 10 games of the season.

• Boston College went 8-for-20 from three-point range. Tech yielded 53 threes in 231 attempts (22.9 pct.) in its wins this season, 119 threes in 309 attempts (38.6 pct.) in its losses.

• Tech went 3-for-15 from three-point range and finished the season with a 26.7-percent clip, an all-time low for one season. The previous low was 29.0 percent in 1996-97.

• Because Marcus Georges-Hunt was sidelined with an injury, Tech used its ninth different lineup of the season – Travis Jorgenson and Tadric Jackson at the guards, Quinton Stephens and Robert Sampson at the forwards and Demarco Cox at center. No Tech player started every game in 2014-15, the first time that has happened in four seasons under Brian Gregory.

• Ten different players started at least one game for Tech this season.

• Tech utilized eight players against North Carolina, and all of them scored. It was the first time all season that Brian Gregory did not use at least nine players in a game.

• All three of Tech’s ACC wins were decided by double digits and an average margin of victory of 15 points. The 11-point margin over Clemson was the smallest of the three wins. The Jackets led by as many as 18 points with 4:56 left in the game.
