– Virginia (25-6) advanced to Friday’s 9 p.m. semifinal game and will face the winner of tonight’s final quarterfinal matchup between third-seeded Miami and sixth-seeded Virginia Tech. The Cavaliers split with both teams during the regular season, winning at home and losing on the road.
Virginia improved to 36-60 in the ACC Tournament and to 23-35 in the quarterfinal round. The Cavaliers are now 2-1 in ACC Tournament games at Washington’s Verizon Center.

Virginia has reached the ACC Tournament’s semifinal round for the third year in a row.
This marks the seventh time in program history that the Cavaliers have won at least 25 games in a season, and their 108 wins over the last four years are the third-most in program history.
London Perrantes handed out eight assists for Virginia, and now has 31 in six career ACC Tournament games.
Georgia Tech’s Adam Smith went 4-of-8 from 3-point range en route to a team-high 16 points. Smith pushed this 3-point total for the season to 101 and ranks third on the school’s all-time list. Former Yellow Jacket standout Dennis Scott holds the top two spots with 137 in 1989-90 and 116 the season prior to that.
