Bolden Receives 3-Game Suspension from Men's Basketball

Sept. 20, 2013

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s basketball player Chris Bolden has been suspended from the Yellow Jackets’ first three regular season games of the 2013-14 season for a violation of team rules, head coach Brian Gregory announced Friday.

The 6-3 sophomore from Tifton, Ga., will miss Tech’s first two home games against Presbyterian (Nov. 8) and Delaware State (Nov. 11) as well as the team’s first road game at Georgia (Nov. 15). He also will not play in the Yellow Jackets’ Nov. 1 exhibition game.

“When a violation of our team rules occurs, our intention is always to deal with it firmly and appropriately,” said Gregory. “We expect the young men in our program to meet certain standards, and there has to be accountability when those standards are not met.”

Bolden is one of four returning starters for Tech, averaging 7.3 points in 31 games as a freshman in 2012-13.
