THE FLATS – A native of Waycross, Ga., freshman Shaheed Medlock comes to the Flats after lettering for four years at Ware County High School under head coach Tre Hill.
The 6-foot-5 guard served as the team captain his final three years at Ware County and earned the reputation of an outstanding defensive player. He is attending Georgia Tech on a Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship.

Georgia Tech's men's basketball team is in its first year under head coach Josh Pastner. Tech has been a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference since 1979, won three ACC Championships (1985, 1990, 1993), played in the NCAA Tournament 16 times and played in two Final Fours (1990, 2004).
