Derrick Favors leads Utah to a much-needed victory with 24-point, 12-rebound double-double … Marcus Georges-Hunt takes trip to G League, drops 34 points … Jarrett Jack continues to lead Knicks to winning record while at starting point guard … Iman Shumpert helps lead Cleveland to three-game winning streak with consistent play … Thaddeus Young continues staunch defensive play for searching Pacers … All of that and more can be found in this week’s Georgia Tech #ProJackets Basketball Report.

Derrick Favors had a vintage performance on Nov. 11 when he led the Utah Jazz to their first win in four games by dropping 24 points and 12 rebounds on the Los Angeles Clippers. The eight-year pro was then just shy of a double-double on Nov. 13 with nine points and 10 rebounds. In his previous three games, Favors has record double-digit rebounds with 12, 10 and 10. In the five-point loss to New York, he also tallied five assists. The Jazz will need him to continue with his high-level of performance in the absence of Rudy Gobert, who’s out 4-6 weeks with a bone bruise in his right knee. The Jazz head to Brooklyn to face the Nets on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

In his short visit to the NBA’s G League, Marcus Georges-Hunt scored 34 points in San Francisco. In 39.5 minutes, Georges-Hunt let loose and tested his conditioning in the wild 141-140 loss. Head Timberwolves coach said the brief move to the G League for him made “a lot of sense”, saying that “Marcus has worked hard on his conditioning, but there’s nothing like playing in a game. As much as you try to practice to a game-like intensity, you can never get it.” The Wolves recalled Georges-Hunt from the G League the very next day, and he’ll be with the team as they take on the Mavericks on Friday at 8:30 p.m.

Going 2-1 in the last week, Jarrett Jack has remained on par with his season average of five points and five assists. Since he had a season-high six turnovers on Nov. 8, Jack has refused to give up more than three, keeping the offense flowing in his starting role. During the stretch the Knicks have downed Utah and Sacramento, while only falling to Cleveland by three at home. As New York continues to look for consistency, they head to Toronto to play the Raptors on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

In the midst of a three-game winning streak, the Cleveland Cavaliers have started to right the ship since regaining Iman Shumpert in the lineup from injury. While not reaching double figures in any categories this week, Shumpert has continued to fill the stat sheet having eight rebounds against Dallas and seven points and four assists against Charlotte. Cleveland is home in four of its next six games, giving them plenty of time to recover from the four-game skid earlier in the month. The Cavs return on Friday against the Clippers at 7:30 p.m.

Thaddeus Young is still the Swiss Army Knife the Indiana Pacers, even while his stat lines haven’t been stellar of late. After averaging double-digits in scoring in each game, he was held scoreless against Houston on Nov. 12 and to just five points against Memphis on Nov. 15. His rebounding and defense continues to be strong, grabbing eight boards against Chicago on Nov. 10 and three steals against Memphis on Nov. 15. After defeating the Grizzlies, the Pacers will host Detroit on Friday at 7 p.m. before heading on a two-game road trip in Florida.
