Radio Information For Basketball

GEORGIA TECH/ISP SPORTS NETWORK
Multimedia rights for the Georgia Tech Athletic Association are handled by International Sports Properties of Winston-Salem, NC. International Sports Properties (ISP) agreed to a multi-year package to coordinate the radio broadcasts of football and basketball as well as the coaches' television shows. This agreement also includes the marketing of Georgia Tech athletics through corporate sponsorship, Internet and other avenues.

Ben Sutton is the president of ISP Sports, while Jeff Salisbury is the general manager of the property in Atlanta.

Each Georgia Tech game will be heard live in the Atlanta area on "Sportstalk 790 The Zone," WQXI-AM (790).

In 2001, ISP and WQXI signed a new flagship agreement for Georgia Tech football and basketball in Atlanta. "Atlanta's sports leader," the station has been managed by Big League Broadcasting since 1997.

ISP Sports broadcast division has contracted other metro Atlanta stations who will join the network for evening broadcasts this season.

Play-by-play announcer Wes Durham and analyst Randy Waters handle the action and excitement of Yellow Jacket basketball.

Durham is now in his seventh season as the "Voice of the Yellow Jackets." Named by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association as the 1999 "Georgia Sportscaster of the Year," Durham also handles the weekly call-in and television shows of head coach Paul Hewitt. The North Carolina native came to Atlanta after three seasons at Vanderbilt. He also has worked at Marshall and Radford in his career. A 1988 graduate of Elon, Durham is the son of North Carolina announcer Woody Durham, who is in his 31st season with the Tar Heels.

Last winter, ESPN's Dick Vitale named both the older and younger Durham to his "All-Cawood Ledford Team" that honored the best college basketball announcers in the nation.

WXIA-TV (NBC, Channel 11) sports personality Randy Waters returns for his eighth year on the network. Waters is the morning sports anchor for "11 Alive News Today." A native of Coshocton, Ohio, Waters has received numerous Emmy awards since coming to this market in 1984. The graduate of Ashland College has also worked in Pittsburgh, Louisville and Lexington, Ky.

Game engineer and producer Miller Pope returns for his sixth season. Pope is a veteran of the Tech broadcasts, having engineered games in the 1980's with announcers Al Ciraldo and Brad Nessler.

HEWITT CALL-IN SHOW - The Paul Hewitt Call-In Show will air 13 times during the season, beginning in December. It can be heard in Atlanta on "Sportstalk 790 The Zone," WQXI-AM (790) on Thursdays from 12:00 Ð 1:00 p.m. Fans can call 1-888-ISP RADIO with their questions for Coach Hewitt.
