Chandler Anderson has little choice these days but to make keen use of his time. There's not a lot of it leftover when in Combat Systems Officer training in the Air Force, and no, when that rare relief comes, the would-be navigators/pilots do not get to use the jets in which they train.

The folks in the USAF are not keen on granting time off from training, so when the former Georgia Tech punter asked a couple months ago for a few hours to zip northward from Pensacola, Fla., to his hometown of Columbus, Ga., and then further north to Cumming, his commanding officer was not amused.

At least not at first. Then, then man smiled.

NEW YORK - Georgia Tech wide receiver Stephen Hill was selected in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft Friday evening by the New York Jets.Hill was the 11th player taken in the second round, the 43rd player selected overall. The Jets, who took North Carolina defensive end Quinton Coples in the first round, made Hill their first pick on the offensive side of the ball.

It's not easy to put junior outside linebacker Jeremiah Attaochu's game into words.

Former Georgia Tech star defensive Eric Henderson got it pretty close in his interview with Voice of the Yellow Jackets, Wes Durham, at Friday night's T-Day Game.

"That's all I'm watching out there," said Henderson when asked by Durham about the defense. "I love it. They're flying around out there."

ATLANTA - After being held to three first-half points, the White team erupted for 28 points in the second stanza to beat the Gold team, 31-7 in Georgia Tech's annual spring football game Friday night."I think we had a productive spring," head coach Paul Johnson said. "I saw some positives (tonight). Overall, I think some guys made real progress. I'm happy we got out of the game tonight without any injuries."
