Tom Conner is in his 20th season as Georgia Tech's Equipment Manager. A certified athletic equipment manager, Conner is responsible for procuring and maintaining all equipment and uniforms for the football program and also assists in ordering gear for Tech's other sports programs.

Conner came to Tech in 1992 after four years as the equipment manager at the United States Naval Academy. He also has experience at the professional level after serving four years (1982-86) as the head equipment manager for the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League.

He then worked one year (1987) as Assistant Equipment Manager at Duke University before moving to Navy in 1988. Conner also spent two years as assistant equipment manager at the University of Missouri.

Conner earned his bachelor of science degree in physical education in 1980 from the University of Alabama, where he worked four years as a student manager for football. Conner, who completed a two-year seat as a member of the Schutt Manufacturers Advisory Board, was honored as the AEMA District III Equipment Manager of the Year for 1997-98.

A native of Signal Mountain, Tenn., Conner is married to the former Pamela Bushman, and the couple has a 16-year-old son.
