A walk-on quarterback who joined the squad in the fall of 2007... a good student who earned a 4.0 GPA his first semester at Tech.

Played at Raleigh Christian Academy... earned three varsity letters in football for coach Steve Wright... also earned three letters in baseball as a centerfielder for coach Bruce Dial... was the Big East Independent Conference Football Player of the Year in 2006... team MVP in `05 and `06... named NCISSA all-state in 2005... the `05 Carolina Colonial Conference Player of the Year... owns school and career records for passing yards and passing touchdowns... made prep debut as a 13-year old freshman.

The only North Carolinian on the Georgia Tech roster... given name is Douglass Ross Coppage, but goes by "Doc"... parents are Ross and Wanda Coppage... hails from Raleigh, N.C., but was born in Atlanta on March 9, 1990... has two sisters, Lauren and Courtney.... plans to major in mechanical engineering... chose Georgia Tech because of its academic reputation, prestigious engineering program and the combination of successful academics and athletics.
