Yellow Jackets and Utes meet in a bowl for the second time since 2005.
A fundamentally-sound, athletic player who has made contributions on both sides of the ball... began his career as a true freshman defensive back in 2011... moved to wide receiver during the 2012 season... has potential to be an outstanding special teams player and can return kicks and punts... has played in all 27 career games.
2012 (sophomore): Played in all 14 games, primarily on special teams and as a back-up side receiver... did not have any receptions but learned the position and improved blocking skills... had tackles against Presbyterian (Sept. 8) and in the ACC Championship Game vs. Florida State (Dec. 1).
2011 (true freshman): Played in all 13 games, seeing most of his action on special teams... had one punt return for seven yards... recorded seven tackles (five solos)... recorded two solo tackles at Middle Tennessee State (Sept. 10)... had two tackles vs. Kansas (Sept. 17)... his only punt return of the season came in a key home win over North Carolina (Sept. 24).
High School: Charles Henderson HS... a Dothan Eagle Super 12 selection... played quarterback in 2010 after playing wide receiver in 2008 and 2009... threw for 1,170 yards and rushed for 1,444 yards as a senior... played for coach Hugh Fountain... earned four letters and served one year as team captain... owns school record for career rushing touchdowns... first QB in school history to rush and pass for 1,000 yards... also ran track for four years.
Personal: Full name is Corey Michael Dennis... parents are Steve and Lisa Dennis... Steve is the athletic director at Troy University... Steve played at Georgia from 1974-78... has three siblings -- Chris, Cale and Allison... Chris is a student assistant coach for Troy... born July 25, 1992 in Auburn, Ala... majoring in business management.
