A top reserve and part-time starter at inside linebacker the past two seasons... began his career at Tech as a running back before moving to linebacker prior to the 2011 season... teams with Quayshawn Nealy and Jabari Hunt-Days to make inside linebacker one of Tech's deepest positions... a strong and athletic player who runs well... enters 2013 with 80 career tackles.
2012 (junior): Played in 10 games and made one start (at Clemson)... despite missing four games and making just one start, Drummond ranked eighth on the team in tackles with 36... recorded one interception... recorded six tackles, including four solo tackles, vs. Middle Tennessee State (Sept. 29)... started and had his best game of the season at Clemson (Oct. 6)... had 11 tackles and recorded his first career interception... registered five tackles in the win over Duke (Nov. 17)... had three tackles at Georgia (Nov. 30).
2011 (sophomore): Played in 11 games and started six times... began the year as a starter at inside linebacker before missing the Maryland and Virginia games with an injury... finished with 44 tackles, a half-tackle for loss, one pass break-up, one forced fumble and one blocked kick... had three tackles and forced a fumble in his first career college game, vs. Western Carolina (Sept. 1)... had six tackles vs. Kansas (Sept. 17)... recorded eight tackles in a key road win at NC State (Oct. 1)... credited with five tackles vs. Georgia (Nov. 26)... played perhaps his best game of the season vs. Utah in the Hyundai Sun Bowl (Dec. 31)... had a career-high 12 tackles (6 solos) and a half-tackle for loss against the Utes.
2010 (redshirt freshman): Did not see game action... was ineligible to play for a majority of the season.
2009 (true freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Flowery Branch HS... GHSA 3A honorable mention all-state... AJC first team all-state... ranked #5 for his position by Scout, #3 by ESPN and #14 by Rivals... had 102 tackles from his linebacker position and averaged six yards per carry as a fullback with over 700 yards total as a junior... as a senior, rushed for 1,102 yards and 13 touchdowns... recorded 72 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and nine sacks during senior year... played for coach Lee Shaw and was a team captain in 2008... began high school career at West Hall HS... earned four varsity letters in football and two in track (shot put, discus) at West Hall HS and Flowery Branch HS combined... led Flowery Branch to a second-place finish in the AAA state playoffs... 2008 state champion in the discus and earned state championship top performer award... owns the Flowery Branch HS single-game rushing record after running for 258 yards and three touchdowns in just two quarters.
