A quick and athletic A-back who has been a solid contributor each of the last three seasons.. has played in 36 career games... a good hybrid player who can run and receive equally well... has been slowed at times with Crohn's disease... comes from the same high school that produced former Yellow Jackets Orwin Smith and Cord Howard.
2013 (junior): Played in nine games and started three times... missed four games because of his battle with Crohn's... averaged 9.2 yards per carry... rushed 13 times for 119 yards and one touchdown... had four receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown... rushed for a touchdown and had a 17-yard reception in the season opener vs. Elon (Aug. 31)... rushed three times for 47 yards at Miami (Oct. 5)... had an 11-yard rush and a five-yard touchdown reception at BYU (Oct. 12)... rushed two times for 11 yards and had two receptions for 27 yards at Clemson (Nov. 14).
2012 (sophomore): Played in all 14 games... rushed six times for 40 yards (6.7 yards per carry)... also had four receptions for 20 yards and one touchdown... was nearly the hero in the season-opening overtime loss at Virginia Tech (Sept. 3)... his 10-yard touchdown reception with 44 seconds left gave the Yellow Jackets a 17-14 lead, only to see the Hokies send the game in overtime with a field goal moments later... rushed once for 12 yards vs. Presbyterian (Sept. 8)... had a 14-yard rushing attempt vs. Duke (Nov. 17)... had a five-yard rush and a three-yard reception at Georgia (Nov. 30).
2011 (redshirt freshman): Saw action in all 13 games as a key performer on special teams and a back-up at A-back... his only rushing attempt of the season went for a touchdown -- vs. Western Carolina in the season opener (Sept. 1)... a standout on special teams... recorded nine special teams tackles, including two vs. Kansas (Sept. 17) and two vs. Maryland (Oct. 8).
2010 (true freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Central High School... rushed for 1,587 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior in 2009... his 18 touchdowns tied the school's single-season record.... named all-state in Alabama... played in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Game... was a high school teammate of current Yellow Jacket Orwin Smith. Served as Smith's back-up at running back in 2008... played three seasons of football, including one as team captain, for coach Ron Nelson.
Personal: Full name is Demetrius Deon Hill... son of Don and Diane... born Feb. 25, 1992 in Columbus, Ga... started playing football at age five... made the Dean's List in the fall of 2012... a management major.
