The hard-nosed, local walk-on was a back-up at quarterback... saw significant action vs. Gardner-Webb (Oct. 11) and had four rushing attempts... saw his first career action against Mississippi State (Sept. 20)... carried seven times for 16 yards against the Bulldogs... missed the season opener vs. Jacksonville State (Aug. 28) because of a shoulder injury... a non-scholarship QB from Atlanta who emerged as one of the real surprises in the spring... spent part of the spring working with the No. 1 offense... picked up Tech's new offensive scheme quickly... showed toughness and the ability to take hits in the spring... had a 1-yard touchdown run in the April 19 T-Day Game.

Played football four years and lettered three at Norcross High School... also played baseball and basketball, lettering one year in baseball... in 2007, received the Offensive Player of the Year Award, Quarterback of the year, and first team all-county.
Born Sept. 22, 1988...son of Darryl and Debbie Dykes... Full name is Bryce Carew Dykes... has two sisters... enjoys fishing and golf... was on honor roll and in the National Honors Society... plans on majoring in Industrial Engineering.
