The senior two-time first team All-ACC selection had season-ending surgery on his left shoulder on Nov. 6... played with a torn labrum most of the season -- an injury that worsened in the Oct. 25 Virginia game... played with significant pain but extended his nation-leading streak of consecutive starts to 48 (every game of his college career) vs. Florida State (Nov. 1)... one of the top offensive tackles in college football... twice in 2008 named the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week... one of three team captains... earned first team All-ACC honors despite missing the final four games of the season... a key reason Tech led the ACC and ranked third nationally in rushing offense... helped Tech churn out 454 yards of offense vs. Duke (Oct. 4)... named the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week for the second time Sept. 22 after helping Tech produce 438 rushing yards and 500 total yards against Mississippi State (Sept. 20)... graded out best among Tech's lineman at Boston College (Sept. 6)... helped offense produce 484 total yards in the season opener vs. Jacksonville State (Aug. 28)... earned ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week for his effort... one of the nation's top offensive linemen... a first-team All-ACC performer in 2007... a four-year starter... gained more than 50 pounds since arriving at Tech... helped former teammate Tashard Choice lead the ACC in rushing in both 2006 and 2007.
2007
Started every game at tackle... earned first team All-ACC honors... earned the first ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week after Tech's O-line completely dominated Notre Dame in the season opener (Sept. 1)... the Yellow Jackets rushed for 259 yards, including 196 by Tashard Choice against the Irish... graded out very well almost every week by then line coach Joe D'Alessandris... was instrumental in keeping Tech quarterbacks from getting sacked during a three-game stretch against Clemson, Maryland and Miami.
2006
Named honorable mention All-ACC... started every game at left tackle... helped the Jackets rank second in the ACC in rushing and blocked for the league's leading rusher, Tashard Choice, who gained nearly 1,500 yards... preseason second-team all-ACC selection by Lindy's, Athlon and The Sporting News.
2005
Started every game at left tackle and was named a first-team Freshman All-America by the Football Writers' Association of America . . . Named to the Freshman All-ACC team by The Sporting News . . . Also tabbed an honorable mention Freshman All-America by TSN . . . Helped Tech lead the ACC in fewest sacks allowed with just 10 and rank third in the league in rushing.
