A returning starter at A-back... was one of the ACC's biggest surprises in 2012... came to Georgia Tech as a walk-on in August, 2009... impressed the coaches early with his work ethic and began playing on special teams in 2010... developed into an outstanding blocker on the perimeter, earning him playing time as a sophomore in 2011... was awarded with a scholarship and emerged as a starter in 2012, replacing Roddy Jones at A-back... emerged as one of Tech's most productive players -- both as a rusher and a receiver... a good student who has made the Dean's List.
2012 (junior): Started all 14 games... had 54 rushing attempts for 429 yards (7.9 yards per carry) and four touchdowns... had more touchdown receptions (4) than any player on the team... recorded 15 receptions for 227 yards... had 10 plays of 20-plus yards -- only Orwin Smith (14) had more... scored Tech's first touchdown of the season on a 12-yard run at Virginia Tech (Sept. 3)... had a 45-yard TD reception vs. Presbyterian (Sept. 8)... rushed six times for 59 yards vs. Miami (Sept. 22)... carried four times for 61 yards and had one five-yard reception at Clemson (Oct. 6)... scored three touchdowns -- all in the third quarter -- in Tech's 68-50 win at North Carolina (Nov. 10)... had two rushing touchdowns and one 32-yard TD reception against the Tar Heels... had two touchdown receptions the following week against Duke (Nov. 17)... had 110 all-purpose yards at Georgia (Nov. 24) with 44 rushing yards and 66 receiving yards.
2011 (sophomore): Played in six games as a back-up at A-back... saw action against Western Carolina, Middle Tennessee State, Kansas, North Carolina, Duke and Utah... had two rushing attempts for 18 yards, including a long of 12 yards.... his first career rushing attempt was a six-yard gain vs. Western Carolina (Sept. 1)... also had a 12-yard rushing attempt vs. Kansas (Sept. 17). 2010 (redshirt freshman): Saw action in nine games, mostly on special teams... did not have a rushing attempt or reception.
2009 (true freshman): Redshirted... played a key role on the scout team. High School: Harrison High School... earned four varsity letters as a running back, cornerback and kick returner... served one year as team captain... also ran four years of track and wrestled for one season... helped lead football team to 2005 regional title... named all-state as a kick returner in 2008... the `08 county player of the year.
Personal: Full name is Robert Alexander Godhigh III... born July 7, 1991... parents are Robert and Jeri Godhigh... has three siblings -- Jamia, Ryan and Reese... majoring in management.
