A returning starter at inside linebacker... has good size, strength and speed... coming off an outsanding redshirt freshman season... brother, Synjyn Days, is a junior running back... a good student with solid leadership skills... likely to miss spring drills to recover from injury.
2012 (redshirt freshman): Started all 14 games as the youngest member of the starting defense... ranked third on the team -- first among linebackers -- in total tackles (84)... recorded 47 solo tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss... had one pass interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and four pass break-ups... started his first career game, at Virginia Tech (Sept. 3) in a nationally-televised game and responded with nine tackles and a tackle for loss... registered career highs for tackles (13), solo tackles (10) and pass break-ups (2) at Clemson (Oct. 6)... had nine tackles and a half-tackle for loss vs. BYU (Oct. 27)... played well in the postseason... recorded eight tackles, including five solo tackles, vs. Florida State in the ACC Championship Game (Dec. 1)... registered double-digit tackles (10) for the second time against USC in the Hyundai Sun Bowl (Dec. 31).
2011 (true freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Hillgrove HS... earned three varsity letters and served one year as team captain for coach Phillip Ironside... played fullback as a sophomore and junior before moving to linebacker... a four-star recruit by Rivals... rated as the 17th-best prospect in the state by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution... named to Marietta Daily Journal Elite Eleven... named all-county... was the Cobb County Defensive Player of the Year... first team all-state... set a school record with a 95-yard interception return... recorded 188 tackles, four sacks, two interceptions, two blocked extra points, three pass deflections, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries... holds a number of school weightlifting records.
Personal: Son of Calvin and Paula... has two siblings -- Synjyn and Dhima Days... born Nov. 8, 1992 in Panama City, Fla... began playing football at age five... majoring in biology.
