Yellow Jackets Open 120th Season On Labor Day At Virginia Tech
The national TV game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN
A sophomore vying to become a part of the offensive line rotation in 2013... gained some experience in 2012 the first half of the season before missing the second half with an injury... was highly-touted out of high school and chose Tech over a number of major programs... a member of the 2012-13 Georgia Tech Student-Athlete Advisory Board... the team's best singer, he leads the team in singing the fight song following victories.
2012 (redshirt freshman): Played in three games... saw action against Presbyterian (Sept. 8), Virginia (Sept. 15) and Boston College (Oct. 20).
2011 (true freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Lake Gibson HS... played under coach Keith Demyer... led team to district titles in 2009 and 2010... named first team Class 4A All-State in 2010 and second team all-state in 2009... a two-time first team all-county selection... maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school.
Personal: Full name is Errin Christopher Joe... son of Ernest and Cheryl... Ernest played football at Albany State... has two older siblings -- Lashana and Ernest III... born June 28, 1993 in Lakeland, Fla... chose Tech because of the quality education, family atmosphere and the coaching staff... enjoys producing and editing videos... won the 2011 Silver Garland Award for his volunteer and academic work, and citizenship... majoring in science, technology and culture.
