Yellow Jackets one-third through spring drills
A talented redshirt freshman expected to make an impact in the secondary this fall... was impressive in practice sessions last season... the coaching staff considered playing him as a true freshman.
High School: Trinity Christian HS... played for head coach Verlon Dorminey... rushed 91 times for 654 yards (7.19 avg.) and 11 TDs as a senior... also had 52 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble... a Rivals three-star recruit and a Florida Times-Union Super 24 selection... also earned all-district, all-state and All-First Coast Team his senior year... recorded 20 tackles in a game as a junior... had 13 tackles, an interception and 100 yards rushing in a game as a senior.
Personal: Full name is Lynn Darien Griffin, Jr... son of Lynn and Terri Griffin... born Sept. 2, 1994 in Jacksonville, Fla... has one sister, Tiara... his cousin Shawn Jefferson played at UCF and then in the NFL with the Oilers and the Lions and is now a coach with the Lions... other cousin Keith Brown played at Miami and is currently in the NFL with the Texans... had two uncles, Lonnie Marks and Leonard Larramore, who both played in the NFL... intends to major in business... once scored three touchdowns in a 30-second span in a Pop Warner game.
