Tied for the team lead with three interceptions . . . Also had nine pass breakups and five tackles for loss . . . Season-high 16 tackles with two tackles for loss against Georgia . . . Had seven tackles and two pass breakups against Wake Forest; also recovered an on-sides kick after the Deacons had pulled with five points in the final two minutes . . . Made five tackles, one tackle for loss, an interception and two pass breakups against Maryland . . . Also had interceptions against NC State and Virginia . . . 2000: Named to the all-ACC second team . . . Also tabbed to the ACC All-Academic team . . . Led Tech in interceptions with four and pass breakups with 12 . . . Totalled 43 tackles with three tackles for loss . . . Season-high 11 tackles against Navy . . . Had an interception and two pass breakups in helping Tech shut out Virginia, 35-0, the first time the Cavaliers have been held scoreless since 1984 . . . Broke up two passes against UCF and then had an interception on the final play to help preserve 21-17 win . . . Also had interceptions against Duke and Maryland . . . Missed parts of two games (NC State and Duke) with a sprained knee . . . Chosen Tech’s Most Outstanding Defensive Back.
1999: Tech’s fourth-leading tackler as a true freshman and one of three true freshman starters on defense . . . Started seven games at free safety . . . Made his first start when Travares Tillman was injured but played well enough to stay in the lineup when Tillman returned and moved to cornerback . . . Made 69 tackles with three tackles for loss and three pass breakups . . . Came close to breaking the Tech record for tackles by a defensive back with 18 against Wake Forest, one shy of the record of 19 by Danny Rhino (1974), Cleve Pounds (1984) and Ken Swilling (1989) . . . Also had a hand in Tech’s late comeback against the Deacons when he recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for a touchdown with 2:27 left in the game . . .
