A skilled and athletic player who is a leading candidate to start at cornerback... playing time increased almost week by week in 2010... has also seen action on special teams... should benefit from having a year of the 3-4 defense under his belt... played as a true freshman in Tech's ACC championship season of 2009... came to Tech after a standout prep career.
2010 (Sophomore):
Played in all 13 games... recorded 38 tackles (27 solo tackles) and one tackle for loss... had one interception and one fumble recovery... his seven pass break-ups ranked second on the team... had two tackles and recovered a fumble at North Carolina (Sept. 18)... recorded four tackles (all solo tackles) vs. NC State (Sept. 25)... had four tackles (all solos) in the win over Middle Tennessee State (Oct. 23)... registered six tackles at Clemson (Oct. 30)... had a pair of tackles and recorded his first career interception -- off a Tyrod Taylor pass -- at Virginia Tech (Nov. 4)... had a career-high eight tackles in the win over Duke (Nov. 20)... had a pair of tackles and first career tackles for loss vs. Air Force in the Independence Bowl.
2009 (Freshman)
One of seven true freshmen to see action... played in all 14 games as a reserve in the secondary and on special teams... recorded eight tackles including seven solo tackles... had a tackle in his first career game vs. Jacksonville State (Sept. 5)... recorded two solo tackles at Mississippi State (Oct. 3)... had a pair of solo tackles at Florida State (Oct. 10).

Luella HS... a Scout.com 4-star recruit... No. 22 CB in the nation (Scout.com)... No. 28 safety in the nation (ESPN.com)... 2008 Georgia Class 5A first team all-state selection, and a two-time first team all-region... earned Golden Helmet Award for academic and athletic performance and was team MVP in 2008... played in the Offense- Defense All-American Game in Myrtle Beach, S.C... had 36 receptions for 723 yards and 10 TD's as a senior... defensively, had 58 tackles and two interceptions and also served as a kickoff and punt returner... junior season had 58 tackles, one interception, one blocked field goal, one fumble recovery and a 99-yard kickoff return... coached by Paul Burgdorf... earned three varsity letters in football and served two years as team captain.
