– Georgia Tech won its fifth straight game, Tech’s first five-game winning streak since the 2000 season. The last time Tech started a season at 5-1 was 1999.

Johnson tied his career high with 10 receptions. He also had 10 last year vs. NC State.
Johnson recorded the 10th 100-yard receiving game of his career, tying the Tech record, set by Harvey Middleton (1994-97) and Kelly Campbell (1998-01).
Johnson recorded his third straight 100-yard game, only the third Tech player to do so. Kelly Campbell had three straight in 2000 (Wake Forest, 147; Duke, 127; Clemson, 209), and Harvey Middleton had three in a row in 1997 (Duke, 106, Maryland, 109, Georgia 140).
Over the last three games, Johnson has 22 catches for 413 yards and five touchdowns.
Tashard Choice recorded his second straight 100-yard rushing effort with a career-best 138 yards. He had 105 yards rushing last week vs. Virginia Tech. His previous high was 107 last year vs. Duke.
Choice raised his career rushing total in a Georgia Tech uniform to 1,005 yards as he became the 32nd player in school history to rush for 1,000 yards.
The Tech defense held Maryland to 87 yards rushing, improving to 22-7 under Jon Tenuta when allowing less than 100 yards.
Maryland’s 100-yard kickoff return for touchdown is the first one allowed by Georgia Tech since 2001, when John Stone of Wake Forest had a 93-yard return against the Jackets.
