MISCELLANEOUS NOTES
• Georgia Tech captains: senior LB Quayshawn Nealy, senior RG Shaquille Mason, and sophomore QB Justin
Thomas
• Saturday was the ninth meeting between the schools. Pitt leads 5-4. It was Georgia Tech’s fi rst win in the state
Pennsylvania.
• Saturday marked Georgia Tech’s fi rst trip to the state of Pennsylvania since 1931.
• Saturday was also Georgia Tech’s fi rst game at Pitt since 1920 and its fi rst game at Heinz Field. The three previous
meetings in Pittsburgh (1918, 1919, 1920) were played at Forbes Field. Georgia Tech is now 1-3 all-time at Pitt.
Paul Johnson is 3-0 all-time vs. Pitt (1-0 at Navy, 2-0 at Tech).
• With the win, Georgia Tech is now bowl eligible and looks to extend the nation’s second longest active bowl streak in
the nation with a possible 18 consecutive bowl appearances.

TEAM NOTES
• Georgia Tech extended its streak to 219 consecutive games without being shut out – the eighth-longest active streak
in the nation. The Jackets haven’t been shut out since Oct. 18, 1997 – a 38-0 loss at No. 3 Florida State.
• Pittsburgh’s six lost fumbles are tied for the most by a Georgia Tech opponent. Most recently, Tulsa lost six in the
2004 Humanitarian Bowl in Boise.
• Georgia Tech broke the Heinz Field college scoring record for an opponent with 56 points. The previous record was 54
by Rutgers in 2008.
• Pittsburgh’s fi ve lost fumbles in the fi rst quarter are tied for the most in a single quarter in FBS history.
• Entering the Pitt game, Georgia Tech had recoverly only one fumble through seven games. Tech recovered six against
the Panthers.
• Thirteen out of Georgia Tech’s 16 takeaways have resulted in points. Twelve of those takeaways have resulted in
touchdowns, including fi ve of the Yellow Jackets’ touchdowns against Pitt.
• Georgia Tech is 9-2 in its last 11 games when rushing for 300 or more yards and 35-9 under Johnson.
• The last time Georgia Tech scored at least 55 points was against Alabam A&M (66 points) on Nov. 23, 2013. It was
also the last time the Yellow Jackets rushed for more than 400 yards (428).

INDIVIDUAL NOTES
• Junior A-Back Broderick Snoddy set career highs for rushing yards (82) and rushing TDs (3). Snoddy tied Heinz Field
record for rushing TDs by an opponent. He tied Kevin Jones (VT, 11/8/03) and Senorise Perry (UL, 10/13/12).
• Sophomore QB Justin Thomas has now posted the fi fth 700-yard rushing season by a Georgia Tech QB. Thomas joins
Josh Nesbitt (2009, 2010), Tevin Washington (2011) and Joe Hamilton (1999) as the only Tech QBs to rush for
700 or more yards in a single season.
Synjyn Days rushed for career-high 110 yards – his career-fi rst 100-yard rushing game.
Adam Gotsis tied his career high with two sacks at Pitt.
Quayshawn Nealy became the fi rst Yellow Jacket to recover two fumbles in a game since Joe Anoai did it against
Tulsa in the 2004 Humanitarian Bowl in Boise.
• Senior A-Back Charles Perkins tallied a career-long 79-yard reception. It was also a career high for receiving yards in
a game (79).
• Senior Synjyn Days started at B-Back in place of the injured Zach Laskey.
• Junior Errin Joe started at right tackle in place of the injured Chris Griffi n.
• Senior LB Quayshawn Nealy made his 40th career start – and 17th consecutive.
• Senior RG Shaquille Mason made his 34th career start – and 33rd consecutive on the offensive line.
• Junior DL Adam Gotsis made his 22nd consecutive start of his career
