WASHINGTON, D.C. - The NFL Players Association is proud to announce that Orwin Smith of Georgia Tech has committed to playing in the 2013 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

The Phenix City, Ala. star running back will be one of the talented draft-eligible seniors competing in the all-star game on Saturday, Jan. 19 at The Home Depot Center on the campus of California State University Dominguez Hills in Carson, Calif.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised live on ESPN2. ESPNU will also air live broadcasts from practices on Thursday, January 17.

Smith is one of the top skill position players in the ACC and was voted to the All-ACC Football Honorable Mention team by both coaches and media. He has the highest career average for yards per rushing attempt by any player in ACC history who rushed at least 1,000 career yards. As a strong runner and straight-line ball carrier, Smith is equally a threat as a runner and receiver. He has become one of the most prolific kick returners in Yellow Jacket history despite his 2011 turf toe surgery. During the 2012 Sun Bowl, Smith caught a 17-yard touchdown pass solidifying Georgia Tech's win over USC.

Pro-football players and coaching legends will work with the game's future stars, giving them first-hand insight on what it takes to win on and off of the field. Herm Edwards and Dick Vermeil will serve as the head coaches for the American and National Teams. Player Ambassadors for the game include former NFL players Terrell Davis, Hank Baskett, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Lorenzo Neal and Andre Reed.
