Tech's Jones Suffers Set Back

June 19, 2009

ATLANTA - Georgia Tech sophomore A-back and kick returner Roddy Jones, who averaged 8.5 yards per carry last season for the Yellow Jackets, suffered a dislocated right wrist earlier this week.

While Jones will not be available when Tech opens practice in early August, both he and head coach Paul Johnson are hopeful that the Stone Mountain, Ga., native will be ready to go for the season opener Sept. 5 against Jacksonville State.

Jones suffered the injury during a weight work-out earlier this week.

"It was a normal, routine weight work-out," said Jones. "It's just a freak accident."

No official time table has been set for Jones to return to practice.
