Season Ticket High

Aug. 23, 2015

2014 ended with an 11-win season and a dominating victory in the Capital One Orange Bowl on New Year’s Eve in South Florida. That momentous end to 2014 has continued well into 2015.

There’s a buzz around the Georgia Tech campus and that’s not including the eye-catching billboards featuring Justin Thomas, Broderick Snoddy and Adam Gotsis that grace the skyline throughout the Greater Atlanta Area.

The buzz around Georgia Tech has also been seen at the ticket window.

For the first time, Georgia Tech has sold all of its premium inventories – including all club seating and suites – before the start of the season. Additionally, the Oct. 24 Homecoming game vs. Florida State is SOLD OUT and Tech’s regular-season finale Nov. 28 vs. Georgia is on pace to sell out. The only tickets remaining for the Georgia game must be purchased through 3-mini packs or a limited number of season ticket packages.

“We’ve reached a five-year high for season ticket sales and have already sold out individual game Florida State tickets with Georgia close to a sellout, as well,” said Mike Bobinski, Georgia Tech Director of Athletics. “As kickoff approaches, we’re aggressively continuing to sell both season and remaining home game individual tickets. Overall, we’re in a good spot right now with an overriding goal to provide a fun, family-friendly and energetic college football atmosphere for all of our home games.”

Georgia Tech’s football season ticket numbers are at a five-year high (Tech sold more than 35,000 season tickets for the 2010 season following the Jackets’ 2010 Orange Bowl appearance).

With a season-ticket renewal rate of more than 90 percent, excitement for the 2015 season is at a fever pitch. With fewer than two weeks until the season opener, Georgia Tech is projecting to eclipse more than 33,500 season tickets, giving Tech nearly 4,000 new season tickets holders.

“I’d like to thank our loyal Georgia Tech fans for their ongoing support of our football program and for continuing the momentum from the 2014 Orange Bowl championship season,” said Bobinski. “It’s exciting to feel the energy and sense the anticipation across campus, in the greater Atlanta region, and beyond as we prepare for the 2015 season.”

It’s one of Tech’s largest year-over-year season-ticket increases, which represents a 12-percent uptick in season tickets sold from 2014. And, single-game tickets are moving at a brisk rate as well. That number is projected to increase even more rapidly as each home game approaches.

“We appreciate the preseason excitement and I know Coach Paul Johnson, his staff and our team look forward to being back on Grant Field with a great home crowd.

“We are excited to open the 2015 season at home on a Thursday night with one of the great atmospheres and scenic backdrops in all of college football. We’re looking forward to a packed house as we give our fans some college football as an early kickoff to a great Labor Day holiday weekend.”

Don’t miss out on the excitement of 2015 and experience one of the nation’s best game-day atmospheres at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Historic Grant Field. Georgia Tech opens the 2015 season on Thursday, Sept. 3, against Alcorn State at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX Sports South. Fans can purchase single-game tickets in person at the Georgia Tech Ticket Office (M-F 9 a.m.-5 p.m.), by phone at 888-TECH-TIX, or online at togetherweswarm.com.
