Hey, you look familiar.
When Paul Johnson takes the field for Saturday's game against Georgia Southern, he will become the 10th active FBS head coach to coach against his former team. Johnson, in his seventh season at Georgia Tech, was an assistant coach at Georgia Southern from 1983-86 and was later the Eagles head coach from 1997-2001, posting a 62-10 overall record. While in Statesboro, he was a part of our of Georgia Southern's six national titles.
Surprisingly enough, Saturday's game is the first meeting between Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern. The schools have combined for 10 national championships - Georgia Tech (1917, 1928, 1952, 1990) and Georgia Southern (1985, 1986, 1989, 1990, 1999, 2000).
