Georgia Tech leads FBS with 5 INT returns for TD this season
That's one word to describe Georgia Tech's defense in 2014.
Through 11 games, the Yellow Jackets defense is tied for second nationally (with Temple) with six defensive touchdowns. Only Washington (7) has more defensive touchdowns this season.

Georgia Tech has scored 116 points off 24 turnovers - the second-most in FBS behind only Louisiana Tech (123). Tech's 116 points off turnovers leads the ACC; Virginia is second with 95.
In fact, Georgia Tech leads FBS with a school-record five interception returns for a touchdown. Tech's previous school mark was four set in 1970 and 1972. Tech's six defensive TDs are also one shy of the school record (seven, 1998).
Perhaps more impressive than Tech's defensive scoring prowess: the number of players with a takeaway. 10 different Yellow Jackets have an interception, which leads the FBS (16 total interceptions), while 13 different Jackets have recorded a takeaway (24 total takeaways).
Georgia Tech, ranked No. 16 in the Coaches and No. 17 in the AP polls, has its second open date of the season this week. The Jackets close their regular-season schedule Nov. 29 at No. 9/10 Georgia in Athens. Kickoff is set for noon ET on the SEC Network. When the Jackets and Bulldogs take the field, it’ll be the 109th meeting of “Clean, Old Fashioned Hate” – the nation’s 19th-most frequently played series among FBS schools.
