Johnson, Brooks Make AP All-America Team

Dec. 12, 2006

Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson was named to the Associated Press all-America first-team, while punter Durant Brooks was a second-team selection.

The Biletnikoff Award winner as the nation's top receiver, Johnson is a consensus first-team all-America with selection to five of the major all-America teams as recognized by the NCAA. He also made The Sporting News team and was previously named a first-team all-America by the Walter Camp Foundation, the American Football Coaches Association and the Football Writers' Association of America. He finished 10th in the Heisman Trophy balloting.

In 2005, Johnson was a first-team all-America by the AFCA while earning second-team recognition from Walter Camp and AP.
