REMINDER: A special edition of "Georgia Tech Sports Today" previewing the Toyota Gator Bowl will air Saturday at 5 p.m. on WATL Channe 36 in Atlanta.

After practice but before heading off to an afternoon at the Adventure Land amusement park, Tech players and coaches met with the media.

Darryl Richard, Defensive Tackle

[Who does WVU quarterback Pat White remind you of?] "There's no one I've been on the field with who compares. I think he has the best combination to offer, as a runner and thrower."

"It's a very high profile offense. If you're a football player, you enjoy a challenge like this. It's an exciting experience and it's a chance to go out and show something, so if you're a competitor, you love a game like this.

"You almost have to ask, What don't they do? They're very efficient at what they do. They do a lot of things, but they play to their strengths. They keep it simple while being a very diverse package.

"The mentality we have in this program is that you can't focus on the last game. You have to get ready for the next opponent. I would be lying if I said I hadn't thought about the ACC Championship game at all, but as far as focusing on it or dwelling on it, no. If you're trying to be successful, in football or in life, you don't go around moping about things, you turn to the positive.

Head Coach Chan Gailey

"Practice was better today. I thought we had some of the kinks out after being off for four days, so it was a cleaner practice today than yesterday.

[Are you where you want to be?] "Never. Have you ever heard a coach say, We're right where we want to be. You always would like another day, one more meeting. That's just coaching."

[Steve Slaton's injury] "I'll bet you anything he's well by Monday.

[Memories of time with Pittsburgh Steelers] "It was fun. We went to three AFC Championships in four years while I was there. We had some great times there. I was very fortunate to be around some good football players, and Bill Cowher was a great guy to work for. He let me do my job, and I was very appreciative of that.
