Larsen leads fourth-ranked Yellow Jackets with 72

ATLANTA -Kevin Larsen posted an even-par 72 on a tough day for scoring, while Georgia Tech finished at nine-over-par 297 and stands in third place, two shots behind Georgia and UNLV after one round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate in Las Vegas, Nev.
The Bulldogs and Rebels are tied at seven-over-par 295, with only one member of either team breaking par - UNLV's C.J. Gatto at one-under 71 - on the 7,510-yard, par 72 Southern Highlands Golf Club. Oklahoma State is in fourth place at 299.
Larsen, a junior from Santa Barbara, Calif., is tied for third place individually with Clemson's Vince Hatfield, while Tech senior Mike Barbosa shot 73 and is in a group including Chris Kirk and Richard Scott of Georgia, and Seung-su Han of UNLV, tied for fifth place.
Daniel Im of UCLA, the only other player to break par Friday, has the first-round lead with a three-under 69.
