Under optimum scoring conditions Saturday, the host Bears blistered the 7,175-yard, par 72 Brickyard at Riverside Course to the tune of 16-under-par 272, moving to 20-under 556 for the tournament and a one-stroke lead over the 2nd-ranked Yellow Jackets. "We played very solid for the most part today," said Tech coach Bruce Heppler. "Bo and Anders gave us under-par rounds today, which was good to see. We're in the final groups for the third time this year, so we look forward to tomorrow."
