Five former Georgia Tech players are in the field for this week’s edition of the RBC Heritage at the famed Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, S.C. Matt Kuchar, whose 2014 title at Harbor Town remains the most recent of his seven PGA Tour victories, is the only one of the quintet to have played last weekend at the Masters, where he tied for 28th place. Kuchar ranks 60th in FedEx Cup points this season, with top-10 finishes at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, the Houston Open and the Dell Technologies Match Play Championship.
Back in action this week is Stewart Cink, who has claimed two of his six PGA Tour wins at the RBC Heritage (2000, 2004), and enters the weekend ranked No. 104 in Fed Ex Cup points. His best finish in 2018 is a tie for 20th at the CareerBuilder Challenge.
Also in the fielder are Chesson Hadley, Tech’s highest-ranked player in the FedEx Cup at No. 26, Ollie Schniederjans (53rd) and Richy Werenski (172nd).
While the Web.com Tour takes another week off, the Champions Tour resumes this week in Duluth, Ga., for the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at TPC Sugarloaf, with Larry Mize looking to rebound after a missed cut at the Masters, and former Tech star and current Golf Channel personality Charlie Rymer reeing it up for the second of his five planned events on the circuit in 2018.
